Falcons defeat DVC, advance to Big 8 finals

The FLC men's tennis team, which enjoyed a first-round bye in the Big 8 Conference playoffs as a #2 seed,  held serve on Tuesday afternoon as they defeated #3 seed Diablo Valley College , 7-2, at the Falcon Tennis Complex.  The Falcons swept the three doubles matches - although two of them were extremely close 9-7 victories – to take a 3-0 lead into singles.  They proceeded to win four of the six singles matches for a convincing 7-2 win, thereby advancing the team to the Big 8 Conference finals against American River on Friday afternoon.  Four Falcons – Stephen Morley, James James, Justin Rollag, and Jeremy Schubert – were all winners in both singles and doubles.  With the win, the Falcons have clinched a spot in the NorCal Regional team tennis playoffs beginning April 9.
