This Week: The Hawks advanced to the CCCAA Northern California Softball Regionals. The regionals will start on Friday and the Hawks-Lobos match up will be at 2 pm. 

Scouting the Hawks: Cosumnes River came in fourth in the Big 8 Conference regular season standings with a 21-15 overall record and a 10-11 record in conference play. Sophomore Hannah Steege leads the Hawks with a .489 batting average. Freshman Rebekah Pedersen leads the Hawks in ERA with a 3.51 ERA.

Scouting the Lobos: The Lobos finished with a 31-5 overall record and finished second in the Coast Conference-South Division with a 12-3 record in conference play. Freshman Malia Visesio leads the Lobos with a .453 batting average. Jesse Dupuis leads the Lobos with a 0.96 ERA.

Last Time Out: This is will be the second meeting between the two schools this season. The two teams played on January 26^th in Monterey in a game that saw the Lobos win 4-0. The two teams have seven common opponents – American River College, Feather River College, Fresno City College, Ohlone College, San Jose City College, Santa Rosa Junior College and Sierra College. The Hawks went 10-8 against those opponents while the Lobos went 8-2

About The Coaches:

Kristy Schroder is in her ninth season as head coach. She had previous coaching stops at Truman State University and UC Santa Barbara.

Keith Berg is the head coach of the Lobos. He was the varsity softball coach for North Salinas High School and was an assistant or associate head coach at NCAA Division I members Northern Illinois University, St. Mary's College and University of North Texas and NAIA member Menlo College. He also served as associate head coach for the Chicago Bandits professional softball team.
