Falcons battle De Anza to 0-0 tie

A tough De Anza College soccer team visited Folsom on Tuesday night, and the match between two highly-ranked teams did not disappoint.  The visiting Mountain Lions entered the match with a 2-1 record and ranked number 15 in California, while the Falcons put their unblemished 4-0 record and lofty #5 California ranking on the line.  The match was every bit as close as the final 0-0 score implied.  Both teams had several scoring chances and close misses, but neither goalkeeper flinched with the balls flying at them.  The Falcons appeared to dominate the possession clock in the second half and definitely didn't capitalize on several point-blank opportunities, but De Anza could argue that they should have scored as well.  This was a well-played game between two quality opponents that refused to lose.  Falcon goalkeeper Joshua Moya recorded his third shutout of the young season with several key stops.

The Falcons will travel to Saratoga on Saturday to take on West Valley at 1:00 pm.
