The Oxnard College men's soccer team defeated the Allan Hancock Bulldogs on Tuesday, 4-1, to claim the Western State Conference North championship.

It was head coach Ross Greaney's 8th trip to the WSC victory circle.  Greaney has now led the Condors to eight such championships, with the first coming in 2007. "It's a giant relief," commented Greaney. "I hope we finish strong at (LA) Mission next game so we can improve our seeding for the upcoming playoffs."

Aristeo Jimenez struck first for the Condors at the 28-minute mark, to put OC up 1-0.  AHC's Juan Montelongo equalized the score four minutes later.

The game went to the half with the score tied at 1-1, and that is when the Oxnard sophomores came alive.  David Garcia scored five minutes in to the second period.  "David did everything for us today.  He passed the ball well and found his consistency...he was simply on his game today," said Coach Greaney.  Sophomore standout defender, Noah Dollenmayer scored at 54:00 showing on the clock, and scoring leader Erik Lopez put the finishing touch on the game with a goal at 82:00.

"I'm really encouraged that we played our best when it counted.  We were able to beat a very good Hancock team when it mattered most, and I'm very happy the way our team stays together."

The Condors will host LA Mission on Friday at 3:00 to finish out the regular season.

Oxnard will look to host Round 1 of the CCCAA playoffs on November 23rd.  Kickoff is slated for 2:00 with admission prices set at $12/$8 by the CCCAA.
