Women's badminton team wraps up conference play unbeaten

Irvine Valley's women's badminton team finished the regular season with another solid victory.

The Lasers, hosted into the South Coast Conference for the 2022 campaign, defeated San Diego Mesa, 17-4, at home on Friday.

Irvine Valley improved its record to 8-3 overall and 8-0 in the SCC.

All three of IVC's losses were to Northern California's top team - DeAnza.

Irvine Valley will face DeAnza in the California Community College Athletic Association State Championship team event on May 12 at Fresno City College.

On Friday, IVC picked up two singles wins each from freshmen Elise Lau, Wai Kei Wong and freshman Emily Feng.

And in doubles, Irvine Valley received two victories from its top team of Yan Luo and Chih Cheih Huang.

Irvine Valley next plays in the South Coast Conference individual tournament next Friday at El Camino College.
