In their second game of the year the MiraCosta women's basketball team played like a team in mid-season form. The Spartans applied a high level of defensive pressure which created turnovers and easy baskets.  MiraCosta was led in scoring by Chynna Cochran (25 points), Julia Iman (14 points) and Savannah Beasley (11 points).  The Spartans raced out to an early 21-14 lead at the end of the first quarter. Cochran intiated the early pressure with three steals that led to lay ups.

In the second quarter the Spartans continued the pace, scoring 22 points and holding the opponents to 11.  The defensive trapping led to steals and poor shots for Gavilan which helped MiraCosta extend their lead to 43-25 at halftime.

The Spartans dominated from start to finish with the final score 77-48.
