Mountie Women's Basketball captures the SCC North Championship over rival Pasadena City College

(Walnut, CA) With the South Coast Conference North Division title on the line, host Mt. SAC (21-7, 6-2) rose to the occasion, staving off a late comeback by Pasadena City College (18-8, 5-3) to claim a 50-46 victory and the division championship on Friday, Feb. 21.

Down 46-45 with 1:24 left to play, Mina Guevera-Goss drained a three to put the Mounties up for good, 48-46. Remy Hare added an insurance bucket with 31 seconds left to seal the win.

Guevera-Goss was the top scorer for Mt. SAC, posting 14 points as teammates Lauryn Manns and Hare added 12 and 10 points, respectively. Skylarr Little grabbed a team-high 13 rebounds.

Dariel Johnson led all players with 18 points and 19 boards for the Lancers.

The SCC North champion Mounties now await pairing announcements for the California Community College Athletic Association playoffs, which begin on Wednesday, Feb. 26.
