Softball Walks Off Moorpark

Bakersfield, CA – Renegade Softball nabbed two home victories over Moorpark on Thursday afternoon at the Dean & Adah Gay Sports Complex, 9-5 in game one and a walk-off eight inning 12-11 victory in game two.

In the first game the Renegades found themselves in a tie ball game at the end of three innings. Moorpark then took the lead in the fourth, but BC responded back with a four-run fifth inning and a two-run sixth inning that put the game out of reach for the visiting Raiders. Jayden Beam led the Renegades with three hits and three RBI's.

In the second game Moorpark needed a five-run fifth inning to tie the game and after a scoreless seventh inning the game went into extra innings. It seemed like the Raiders might snatch the win after scoring three runs to go up 11-8 in the top half of the eighth. In dramatic fashion though, the Renegades saved the fireworks for the end to score four runs and take the game in walk-off fashion for their fifth win on the season.

With the two victories, the Renegades now improve to 5-9 overall. They will now travel to play at Moorpark on Saturday (5/8) in a doubleheader with game times at 12:00pm and 2:00pm.
