M. SOCCER: BIG TEST COMING UP

The Hornets will take on 9-time NJCAA national champs Dallas College-Richland of Texas this Friday when they meet at the Mt. San Antonio College for the Nike/Azteca Soccer Tournament.

It will be the first time in the Hornet Soccer Program's history that they play a team from out of state, nonetheless the best team in the country.

Beginning its 20th season, the Richland Thunderducks completed their a second title three-peat this past year. Richland won its first three titles in a row in 2002, 2003 and 2004. They have won four of the last five national championships in men's soccer.

The Hornets have been waiting in the wings to play a game for almost two years, and now they have an opportunity to make their mark early in the 2021 season. Sporting a 2-0 overall record, the 2018 and 2019 Orange Empire Conference champs are focused and ready for the task ahead.

The Mount San Antonio College Invitational will feature some of the best teams in the country in Richland, Fullerton, Lake Tahoe, West Valley, Santa Ana (6-time state champs), and host Mt. SAC (5-time state champs).

Up Next: The game featuring Fullerton and Richland will take place at Mt. SAC on Friday, September 3rd at 6:00 pm. Fans are welcome. FC will play again on Sunday against Lake Tahoe at 10:00 am.
