MEN’S VOLLEYBALL: ROAD TO THE PLAYOFFS

On Wednesday, Fullerton defended the nest against conference rival Golden West College winning 3-1.

As the regular season comes closer to the end for the Hornets, they have been able to grab some important victories over respected competitors. Yesterday's game was no different. Golden West wanted to redeem themselves from the three-game sweep Fullerton delivered the last time the two teams met. The Hornets did not accomodate.

In the first set the Rustlers did not respond to Fullerton's offense as the Hornet's great teamwork led to a first set win 25-13.

Golden West responded with an 18-25 win over Fullerton in set two, but FC recovered from the loss taking the third (25-21) and fourth (26-24) set.

Shawn Stolt ended the night with 11 kills, and seven game-changing block assists. Javier Zavala had 8 kills, 5 digs, and 2 block assists. Brain Marquez contributed 5 digs and 3 block assists.

The Hornets have now won three games in a row putting them in second place in the Orange Empire Conference. The next test Fullerton faces is aganst the Pirates of Orange Coast College. They will meet for the second time this season. In the previous game, OCC nudged out the Hornets in a close five sets.
