Bulldogs Shut Out Bakersfield at Home

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College women's soccer team earned its second consecutive victory by blanking Bakersfield College at home in a 3-0 showing.

The Bulldogs (2-2-1) struck first after a pass from Hayde Gallardo allowed Emely Graciliano Sanchez to beat a Renegade (1-1-0) defender on the left sideline and sneak one past the keeper in the 10th minute. Hancock doubled the lead in the 22nd minute after Gallardo tapped in a pass from Hope Smith, which arced over the goalie and into the box. The third and final goal of the night came from Antoinette Terrones in the 28th minute after she sent a cross from Graciliano Sanchez through the right side of the goal.

As a team, the Bulldogs had their best offensive performance on the season after outshooting Bakersfield 15-5. Hope Smith led the offensive barrage with four attempts, followed by Graciliano Sanches (3), Gallardo (2), Terrones (2), and Bianca Castenada (2). Ally Britt collected her second in the box with five saves in the contest.

Hancock is set to return to action on Tuesday, September 21st, with a road trip to Hartnell College. Match time is set to begin at 2 PM in Salinas, Calif.
