A FORCE TO RECKON

The No. 2 in state Hornets are on a 10-game win streak after dismantling Golden West College 17-3 at home on Wednesday. 

Tabbed as the No. 1 team in Southern California, FC is gunning for the No. 1 spot in the state just behind the North's West Valley College (12-0). 

In the Orange Empire Conference, Fullerton is in first place with an undefeated 7-0 record. Riverside City and Orange Coast trail behind by two games. 

FC jumped on the Rustlers in the first quarter taking a 7-0 lead thanks to goals by Adrianna Wong, Kate Del La Mora (2), Nikki Salerno (2), and Neida Torres (2). By the halftime break, the Hornets were up a healthy 14-0. 

In the second half, Fullerton managed three more goals by Kate De La Mora, Alexandra Haluska, and Carmen Liberto before the final buzzer sounded.

Neida Torres and Kate De La Mora scored 4 goals each for FC, while Nikki Salerno followed with 3 of her own. Amanda Ellerbroek added 2 goals, and Jordyn Lughart scored a goal and had 6 blocks. Sophia Martinez and Adrianna Wong both dished out 3 assists.

Up Next: Fullerton (13-1 overall, 2-0 OEC) plays in the Ventura College Tournament October 7-8.
