VENTURA, Calif. – The SBCC women's water polo team won all three of its Friday games on day one at the Ventura Tournament, downing Santa Monica 12-2, Pasadena 10-1, and Mt. San Antonio 15-7.

After extending their perfect start to the month of October, the Vaqueros now find themselves with a nine-game winning streak and an 18-3 overall record.

SBCC vs. Santa Monica
Santa Barbara jumped out to a 10-0 lead for the fourth time this season in its opening game, taking down conference foe Santa Monica by a final score of 12-2.

A balanced offensive attack would see seven different Vaqueros score in the first half, as they put away five in each quarter. Elina Borghoff, Emily Clapham and Megan Ditlof all scored twice before the break.

Borghoff was the lone Vaquero goalscorer in half two, scoring twice in the third to put SBCC up 12-1. That brought her total to a game-high of four after coming into the day without a goal in 2021.

It was also the fourth multi-goal outing of the season for Clapham and the sixth for Ditlof.

SBCC vs. Pasadena City
The Vaqueros cruised to the win in their second contest of the day against Pasadena.

Ensley Letterman led all players with three goals, including one in the opening minute of the fourth to give the Vaqueros a 10-0 lead for the second straight game. Borghoff added two more goals to give her six on the day.

In the cage, goalkeeper Chloe Mckay tied a season-high with 13 saves, tying her mark from the Vaqueros' season-opener. She also tallied her sixth assist of the season.

SBCC vs. Mt. San Antonio
In a rematch against Mt. SAC to close the day, SBCC dominated from the outset, taking a 10-1 advantage on a Charlize Winter goal late in the first half.

Driver Eden Tal dominated throughout the game, tying a season-best in goals. The Kibbutz Shamir, Israel native scored five times in the first half and twice in the second half.

Megan Ditlof added a hat trick, while Winter finished with two goals. Mckay recorded a season-high with three assists.
