The No. 1 men's volleyball team defeated the San Diego Mesa College Olympians last Friday evening in the Building Q Gym with a 3-0 sweep to advance to the California Community College Athletic Association State Championship Semifinals.
The Vikings were very consistent against the Olympians and won by the sets of 25-16, 25-22, and 25-12.
Freshman outside hitter Julian Zavala led the team with 11 kills and had two service aces. Freshman setter Sean Nguyen was the catalyst behind the ball as he totaled 14 assists for the Vikings and sophomore libero Kyler Tufuga tallied 11 digs for the Vikings.
The Vikings will go on to face No. 4 El Camino this Thursday, April 21 at El Camino at 7 p.m. in the CCCAA State Championship Semifinals.
