GLENDORA - Deja Smith continued to fill up the stat sheets as she finished with 18 points, eight assists, four rebounds and four steals to help lead the Marauder women's basketball team to a 57-48 victory over Citrus.
With the victory, the Marauders remained only one game out of first place behind LA Valley, which remained undefeated after its victory over Glendale. AVC and Glendale play on Saturday at Marauder Gymnasium.
AVC trailed by three entering the fourth quarter but outscored the Owls 20-8 in the final period to seal the victory. The Marauders were outscored 19-7 in the third quarter.
Shantanel Bivens scored a game-high 23 points on 11-of-14 shooting and pulled down 12 rebounds.
