Men's Tennis Clinches Big 8 North Conference Title and Beats Regional Rival Foothill College

Overall: 9-3         Conference: 3-0

The Beavers had a busy weekend, first clinching the conference title by beating  Folsom Lake College twice, and then defeating regional rival, Foothill College, in a shutout. In the first match against Folsom Lake, the match was played to clinch, meaning the first to reach five individual wins earns the team victory. ARC was able to finish the match in the singles, led by Patrick Wall (#6) winning without dropping a game, 6-0, 6-0. In the second team match of the day against FLC, the Beavers won two of the three doubles matches, and finished by sweeping all six singles matches. Top singles performances were delivered by Ravi Nelson (#1) beating FLC Diego Rodriguez 6-0, 6-2, Lenny Lin (#2) winning 6-0, 6-0, and Parker Perdue (#3) and Julian Bilbao (#4) both scoring 6-1, 6-0 victories. This marked the tenth straight season ARC has won the conference title.

A day after playing FLC, the Beavers faced off against perennial NorCal regional rival, the Foothill Owls. ARC dominated the doubles to take a 3-0 lead, and finished the shutout in the singles. At #1 doubles, Lin and Jack Hall beat the formidable Foothill team of Marius Eglemann and Ethan Wardlow 8-4. In the singles, Nelson defeated Englemann 6-1, 6-2 and Lin won a hard-fought match against Wardlow 11-9 in the 3rd set tiebreak. Perdue (#3), Shane Timmons (#4), and Spencer Hill (#5) all won convincing straight-set matches to complete the shutout. Next week the Beavers will travel to Fresno to play Fresno City, Reedley, and NCAA DII Fresno Pacific.
