Olivia Strong and Charlee Fitzmaurice not only qualified for the Southern California regionals in both singles and doubles, but they also made it all the way to the final of the PCAC doubles championship on Saturday to earn All-PCAC honors. Faith Satrya also qualified for regionals after making it to the back draw final at the PCAC singles championship.
Strong and Fitzmaurice, City's No. 1 doubles team, defeated their teammates Satrya and Leila Adel, 8-2, in their first match of the PCAC doubles championship and then went on to get past Grossmont's duo of Alivia Childs and Kristen Cooper, 9-7, in the semifinals. They then lost in the final, 6-3 and 6-2, to Grossmont's Jiaying Zheng and Katherine Busani.
City's No. 2 doubles team of Satrya and Adel moved over to the back draw after falling to Strong/Fitzmaurice and won their next match over Imperial Valley's Kamaya Robles and Lauren Henderson to make to the back draw final, but missed out on qualifying for the regionals after losing to Southwestern's duo of Ariana Martinez and Yerania Moreno in that final.
Satrya, however, won two singles matches in the back draw to earn a spot at the regionals along with Strong and Fitzmaurice.
This year's women's and men's Southern California regionals will be held from April 29-30.
