Jacquez Walker scored eight points in the final minute and a half to secure the West Valley men's basketball team's 77-71 win at Hartnell Wednesday night. Walker canned back-to-back treys to give the Vikings a 72-68 lead with :58.6 left. Beattie Roggasch III drained a pair of free throws with :29 left for a 74-68 Viking lead. After Mike Green hit a three for Hartnell on the ensuing possession, Walker was fouled and converted two from the stripe with 13.7 seconds left to seal the win and a season sweep of the Panthers. Devante Johnson paced the scoring sheet for the Vikings (12-13, 6-3 Coast-South) with 20 points, while Cristian Mejia had 19 and Walker 16. Hartnell (11-15, 4-6) was led by Spencer Conrad's 22 points. The Vikings host San Jose City (0-25, 0-9) Friday (2/15) at 7:00pm.
