MC Softball riding five-game winning streak, tops Ventura with dramatic comeback
The Moorpark College softball team is playing its best softball right now, and is currently riding a five-game winning streak that was highlighted with its most recent 7-5 comeback victory over conference nemesis Ventura College Tuesday afternoon.
The Raiders outhit the Pirates 12-7, led by Rachel Hurtado, Lexi Brown, and Deanna Villa – each with two hits.
Villa's heroics came in the bottom of the sixth inning after the Raiders stormed back from what was once a 5-0 Ventura lead to make it 5-4. Villa's triple scored three runs, bring in Ashlee Cadillo, Victoria Villegas, and Briana Simmons.
Moorpark currently holds the longest winning streak in the conference and sits in third pace with a 5-2 WSC-North record. The Raiders are 15-8 overall.
