The West Valley men's water polo team reached double figures in each of its four games against some of the top teams in NorCal at the 56th Nyquist Invitational at the West Valley Aquatics Center Sept. 10-11. The Vikings (4-0) took care of Modesto 17-2 and San Joaquin Delta 19-3 on opening day. On Saturday, WVC overcame some opening quarter jitters to overwhelm Sierra 22-8 and then dominated Diablo Valley 17-4 in a physical "Battle of the Vikings".
Nikola Nikolic led all scorers with 14 goals in four games, while Ran Souva had 11. Ante Buzov found the back of the net nine times, while Togan Ozbek had eight.
