Glendale topples SBCC, 6-3

Glendale went 4-2 in singles and 2-1 in doubles to hand SBCC its first WSC West defeat, 6-3, on Tuesday at Pershing Park.

The Glendale Vaqueros (6-1, 3-0) won their sixth straight while the SBCC Vaqueros fell to 2-3 and 1-1.

Andres Decock won a three-setter at No. 2 singles for Santa Barbara and Ronan Casteleyn won 6-0, 2-6, 6-3 at No. 4 singles. Casteleyn also got SBCC's only doubles point, teaming up with Jakob Rinschen to win the No. 2 set, 8-4.

"It was a tough mach today, we fought really hard against a good team," said SBCC coach Chris McBride. "Ronan played a great match, getting two of our three points."

The Vaqueros will play two matches on Saturday -- at Grossmont at 9 a.m. and at San Diego City at 2 p.m.
