Mt. SAC season concludes as Orange Coast advances

(Costa Mesa, CA) The 2019 Mt. SAC baseball campaign came to an end on Saturday as top-seed Orange Coast (35-8-1) handed the Mounties (26-20) a 15-1 loss in the second game of a best-of-three series in the California Community College Athletic Association Southern Regional Sectional.

Mt. SAC's lone run came in the bottom of the fifth when Alex Gonzalez scored on a single by Dylan Zavala (1-for-4, RBI).

Starter Christian Longoria (5-5) got the loss for the Mounties, pitching 1.1 innings and giving up five earned runs.

Michael Sandoval (1-for-4) and Albert Luevano (1-for-2) accounted for the other Mt. SAC hits.

This is the second consecutive season that the Mounties have advanced to the Sectional round of the CCCAA playoffs. In 2018, Orange Coast eliminated Mt. SAC in the second round of the state championships.
