Santa Monica College Women's Soccer hosted the Ventura College Pirates on Friday in a non-conference match up.   The Corsairs came out strong with Cindy Castro scoring in the 20th minute of play off of an assist from Ceirra Little. The rest of the half was a battle, but the Corsairs held on to go into half time with the score of 1-0.   The second half was just as intense, but the Corsairs were able to hold onto their clean sheet and come out on top with a 1-0 victory. 

SMC Goal Keeper Taylor Brown recorded the win with 4 saves on the game. 

The Corsairs are now ranked #1 in the state according to the CCCAA PowerPoint matrix. They will return to action at home on Tuesday, September 24th at 3pm against Santa Barbara City College.
