Palomar College scored in the first three minutes of action and never looked back to hand Citrus College a 3-0 loss Friday afternoon.

The Owls drop to 2-6-0 overall, while the Comets improve to 3-2-1 on the year.

Palomar out-shot Citrus 14-to-9 in the game, putting the pressure on early. After the Comets scored in the third minute, they were knocking once more a minute later, but Edgar Villafana made the save to keep his team in the game.

Andrew Garibian tried to even things up in the fifth minute, but his shot was saved by the Comet goalkeeper.

The Comets struck again in the 24th minute, but the Owls kept battling. Luis Chavez Garibian put a shot on frame, forcing Palomar's goalkeeper to push it wide for an Owl corner kick. David Alcazar got his head on the cross, but once again the goalkeeper made the save to keep the Owls scoreless.

Just before the referee blew the whistle for halftime, Palomar got a corner kick and found the back of the net to increase its lead to 3-0.

Not much could get going in the second half for either side, ending the game with the 3-0 result.

Villafana made six saves in goal for the Owls as they take a week off to regroup. Citrus is back in action on Friday, Oct. 1, hosting El Camino College at 3:00 p.m.
