The West Valley tennis team improved to 4-1, 3-1 in the Coast Conference, with a 9-0 blanking of City College of San Francisco Friday in San Francisco. Abigail Prokter remained unbeaten in 2022 with twin-wins in doubles and singles.
Prokter teamed with Seraphina Vossen to take their doubles-one match against Devon Ponce/Alexas Johnson 8-3. She again faced Johnson in a singles-two match, winning 6-0, 6-1. Prokter is now 4-0 in doubles and 3-0 in singles in four conference matches.
Vossen defeated Ponce 6-1, 6-4 in singles-one, while Zeynep Aynaci took care of Lucia Wallace 6-1, 6-0 in S3, Sonya Hu shut out Milena Durking 6-0, 6-0 in S4, Natasha Sackx held off Pauline Caillau 6-4, 6-4 in S5, and Brynn McKenzie defeated Rosanna Chica 6-1, 6-1 in S6.
Aynaci and Hu defeated Wallace and Chu 8-2 in doubles-two, while Sackx and McKenzie beat Euncie Millares and Selena Santiago-Cruz 8-3 in their D3 match.
West Valley hosts district rival Mission (0-2, 0-2) Tuesday (2/22). Doubles get underway at 2:00pm.
