After a two-out error allowed Redwoods to put a run on the board in the top of the first, the West Valley softball team took control for a 4-1 win over the Corsairs Friday in Saratoga. Ava Gonzales hurled a nine-strikeout four hitter for the complete-game win, while Hunter Miramontes went 2-2 and Marissa Diaz stroked a two-run single in the third to lead the WVC offense. The Vikings (6-6, 0-2 Coast-South) host Cabrillo (11-5, 1-0) Monday (3/11) in a game originally scheduled for March 8. First pitch is 3:30pm.
