(Torrance, CA) In a match that saw its entire scoring take place in the first half, Mt. SAC (18-0-3) captured the South Coast Conference title against Cerritos (15-2-4) by the score of 2-1, at El Camino College on Friday night.

The Mounties' first score came just 3:54 into the match when Ivan Escobar scored on an assist from Herminio Padilla. Guilherme Farias put Mt. SAC up, 2-0, on an assist from Angel Santoyo at the 29:17 point of the match. The Falcons' only score came before halftime at the 40:54 mark.

Goalkeeper Alain Hernandez had four saves in 90 minutes for the Mounties.

Mt. SAC will next participate in the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Regional Playoffs. Pairings will be announced in the near future.
