WBB: Eagles Pick Up Home Win in Long Awaited Return

MSJC's Rayven Crook had a game high 19 points on Saturday as the Eagle women's basketball team defeated San Bernardino Valley 88-28.

The MSJC women's basketball team played their first game since December 30th on Saturday and were able to come away with an 88-28 Inland Empire Athletic Conference victory over San Bernardino Valley.

Due to Covid cancelations and re-scheduling issues the Eagles were playing their first game in over three weeks, but managed to jump out to a 20-6 lead after the first period.  MSJC would extend the lead to 46-10 by halftime on their way to the win.

Four Eagles ended the day in double digits offensively as Rayven Crook led the way with 19 points.  Sandee Heiermann and Mariah Sanchez both had 15 a piece while Diamonere Butler finished the afternoon with 13.  Deja Blue came close to posting a triple double in the game as she ended her day with 9 points, 11 rebounds, and 8 assists.  Alexis Pina pulled in a game high 14 rebounds for the Eagles, who out rebounded the Wolverines on the night 58-28.

MSJC is now 14-4 on the season and 4-0 in Inland Empire Athletic Conference play while San Bernardino Valley fell to 4-16 overall and 3-2 in the IEAC.  The Eagles are scheduled to travel to Barstow on Wednesday for a 5 pm game against the Vikings.
