No. 13 Softball Wins Eighth Straight with Sweep of No. 17 West Valley

Oroville, Calif. - The No. 13 Butte softball team earned its eighth-straight win with a sweep of No. 17 West Valley, 6-3 and 2-1, on Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore pitcher Kiya Hamar counted saves in both contests to count her fourth of the season, tossing four total scoreless innings with four strikeouts.

In game one, sophomore Alexis Detwiler led the team's battery with both of hits being doubles. Freshman Diana Hull also earned a pair of hits with a double, while freshman Faith Epperson going 1-for-1 with a double and a pair of RBI.

Freshman Avery Jolley (4-3) earned the win in the circle in game one after going five complete. 

Sophomore Grace Stearns went 2-for-3 with a triple in game two to lead the Roadrunners at the plate with Detwiler and Hull earning the team's two RBI. 

In the circle, sophomore Maggie Smith (5-2) tallied a pair of strikeouts in her five-inning appearance.

Butte (10-5) returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 25 when it hosts Solano in a doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m.
