The MSJC women's soccer team picked up two victories this past week including a win on the road at Norco in the team's 2022 Inland Empire Athletic Conference opener.

The Eagles finished off their non-conference portion of the season on Tuesday with a home win over Porterville 6-0.  MSJC was in control of the match from the start as they scored 5 times in the opening half.  Karyme Mendoza got things started with an unassisted goal just 5 minutes in, she would follow with her second goal of the day just 4 minutes later scoring this time with an assist from Jalen Uribe.  Mendoza then had the first of her two assists on the day when she connected with Chloe Baeza who scored for MSJC in the 35th minute.  Aaliyah Sims would add an unassisted score in the 41st minute and Alisson Montoya scored in the 43rd minute with a helper from Lakshmi Gomez to make it 5-0 at the break.  Ashley Suarez would tack on a goal in the 88th minute to round out the scoring.  The combination in goal of Andrea Landeros, Perla Fuentes, and Nicole Molina earned the shut out with Molina making the only save of the match.

Friday the Eagles hit the road to open IEAC play and defeated Norco 2-0, as their stellar defense continued.  Baeza scored the first goal of the match with an assist from Mendoza and then Mendoza scored with an assist from Sims late in the first half. That would turn out to be all the scoring MSJC would need to claim the victory.  The Eagles got 17 shots on goal in the match compared to just three by Norco.  Nicole Molina made 3 saves for MSJC.

The wins push the Eagles record to 7-2 on the season, they are now 1-0 in conference play.  MSJC has two matches at home this week at Carl Quandt Stadium as they host San Bernardino Valley on Tuesday and Victor Valley on Friday.  Both matches this week kick off at 4 pm.
