MODESTO (3-12) - Cosumnes River traveled down Highway 99 to take on Modesto Junior College in Big 8 Conference-South Division play. The Pirates topped the Hawks 8-1.

The Pirates won five singles matches while the Hawks won one. Two matches - the #1 singles match between Kien Dang of Cosumnes River and Robbie Hoile of Modesto and the #2 singles match between Chia Vang of the Hawks and Trey Reed of the Pirates – each ended in 6-2, 6-2 scores. Dang won the #1 singles match while Reed won the #2 singles match. In the #3 singles match between Steven Vang of the Hawks and Omar Mendoza of the Pirates, Mendoza defeated S. Vang 6-0, 6-0. In the #5 singles match between Kee Thao of Cosumnes River and Oliver Calos of Modesto, Calos defeated Thao 6-0, 6-3. In the #6 singles match between Hunter Franklin of the Hawks and Yongfeng Lin of the Pirates, Lin defeated Franklin 6-1, 6-3. The tightest singles match was the #4 singles match between Mac Samson of Cosumnes River and Trevor Wright of Modesto. Wright defeated Samson 6-4, 6-2.

The Pirates won all three doubles matches. Two matches - the #2 doubles match between C. Vang and S. Vang of Cosumnes River and Calos and Hoile of Modesto and the #3 doubles match between Franklin and Thao of the Hawks and Lin and Mendoza of the Pirates – finished with the Pirates winning 8-2. The tightest doubles match was the #1 doubles match between Dang and Samson of Cosumnes River and Reed and Wright of Modesto. Reed and Wright defeated Dang and Samson 9-7.
