Hadenfeldt, Hawks make 2022 debut against Diablo Valley

LIVERMORE – Women's volleyball is officially back in action at Las Positas College. The Hawks returned to the court for the first time since the 2019 season on Wednesday, this time under the direction of new head coach Jamie Hadenfeldt.

Although it wasn't the final outscore Hadenfeldt and the Hawks were hoping for, LPC steadily improved as the match went on in a 3-0 opening-day loss to visiting Diablo Valley College. LPC lost the match by scores of 25-7, 25-9, and 25-14.

Sophomore outside hitter Sophia Kim paced the Hawks with five kills and eight digs while sophomore setter CJ Hernandez totaled eight assists, six digs, and a pair of aces. LPC totaled 27 digs for the match.

Las Positas (0-1) returns to action on Friday (Sep. 2) when the Hawks are scheduled to face College of the Redwoods and Monterey Peninsula College in matches at the MPC Classic.
