After falling behind 2-1 in doubles, Ventura swept all six singles on Tuesday to down SBCC 7-2 in a WSC West men's tennis opener at Ventura.
Andreas Fuerst/Alexander Martin and Taylor Kleine/Lucas Pollero got the Vaquero points at No. 1 and 3 doubles, respectively. The doubles are being played first and the singles second in the WSC this year.
"We started strong in doubles and Kiyosuke Kiuchi and Zander Martin fought hard in singles but fell short in a couple of battles," said SBCC coach Nathan Jackmon. "Everyone else struggled to get anything going."
The Vaqueros will host Orange Coast in a non-conference match on Friday at 2 p.m.
