Pirates continue to roll with 3-0 win over visiting Lancers

COSTA MESA -- In spite of a less-than-full squad on the field, the Orange Coast College women's soccer team found a way to get the job done with a 3-0 nonconference win over visiting Pasadena City College on Tuesday afternoon.

An early goal by Addison Tolliver and a pair of late goals by Leah Martinovich and Tolliver were more than enough offensive support for a Pirate squad that has been thriving this year on the defensive end of things.

Pasadena (1-4-1) could only muster three shots for the entire match with only one on frame, which was stopped with ease by goalkeeper Jessica Gardner for the Pirates (4-0-1).

The Coast defense has still not allowed a goal for the 2022 season, while outscoring the opposition, 11-0 along the way.

Tolliver's goal came in the 7th minute after Zoe Bacca carried pressure down the left side and got past the defender before slipping a feed into the goalie area. Tolliver found herself with the ball and a wide-open net and her goal put the Pirates up for good.

It stayed 1-0 until the final minutes of the match when a free kick was drilled into the back of the net by Martinovich in the 83rd minute.

In stoppage time, Lily Carroll fed Tolliver with a nice pass the the freshman ripped her second goal of the contest into the back of the net.

OCC will return to action on Friday at home against Norco, beginning at 3 p.m.
