Panthers pull away in second half to defeat Falcons

The Sac City Panthers came to Folsom on Tuesday night and left with an 82-67 win over the Falcons.  The Panthers repeatedly pounded the ball inside to one of their two 6'7" forwards, usually resulting in a basket or a foul.  The Falcons, meanwhile, struggled to get free for open looks anywhere near the basket and had to settle for long-range shooting.  Despite the matchup difficulties, the Falcons rallied to tie the game at 31 late in the first half.  In the second half, the Panthers gradually pulled away in the final 10 minutes to win by 15.  Panther forward Terry Moody led all scorers with 20 points, while four Falcons scored in double figures: Dylan Davis with 13, Jeremy Dexter had 12, Pierce Rexford scored 11, and Grant Bellis tallied 10.  The loss drops the Falcons to seventh place in the Big 8 Conference at 2-6 (5-15 overall).  The Falcons will travel to Santa Rosa on Friday to take on the Big 8 Conference-leading Bear Cubs (7-1, 15-5) to begin the second half of the Big 8 schedule.
