Bobcats earn split at Ventura Tournament

The Saddleback women's water polo team went 2-2 at the Ventura College Tournament this past weekend.  The Bobcats dropped the opening games on Friday before battling back with two wins on Saturday.

Saddleback played rugged competition on Friday, falling to Santa Barbara City College (15-7) and San Joaquin Delta College (8-7).  The Bobcats bounced back with dominating wins against Mt. San Antonio College (13-4) and Pasadena City College (14-0) on Saturday.

Saddleback had five goals from Katie Butler in going 2-0 on Saturday.  Butler scored two against Mt. San Antonio and three against Pasadena City to pace the Bobcats.

Saddleback's 14-0 win against Pasadena City was the first known shutout in the history of the program.  The Bobcats had just two turnovers in the game and surrendered only a handful of shots to the Lancers in improving to 11-8 overall.

Saddleback will be back in the water on Wednesday when they travel to Fullerton College for an Orange Empire Conference game against the Hornets.  Game time is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
