Softball Wins Fourth Straight

TORRANCE, Calif. – El Camino College recorded its fourth straight victory with a 5-2 South Coast Conference victory over visiting Pasadena Tuesday afternoon at the ECC Softball Field.
The Warriors (15-5, 10-2) grinded out the win over the Lancers (13-8, 8-5) despite a rough start for Elizabeth Cortez in the circle.
Jocelyn Hernandez and Emily Piera recorded the final 14 outs of the game and allowed just one unearned run in the process. Hernandez picked up her sixth win of the year in the circle while Piera picked up her first save of the season.
Diamond Lewis and Hernandez were stellar at the plate as they each went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Lewis' leadoff triple helped put the Warriors up 1-0 in the first inning and Hernandez belted two doubles in the victory.
The Warriors are scheduled to return to action Wednesday on the road against East Los Angeles. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m., weather permitting.
