W. SOCCER: GREAT EFFORT GRABS THE WIN FOR FC

The Hornets hosted Rio Hondo College for a non-conference game on Friday afternoon and out-hustled the Roadrunners 3-1.

After tying Long Beach 0-0 in the season opener, the FC women's soccer team has ripped off three straight wins.

In the first half, Fullerton took a 1-0 o lead in the 40th minute on a shot by Izabelle Garcia that was diagonaled by Madelynn Ledesma.

The Roadrunners tied the game up later in the game (75th minute) on a rebound shot by Alexis Macias.

A few minutes later, Fullerton reclaimed the lead when Izabelle Garcia fed a through-ball to Ashley Bautista, who knocked the ball into the back of the net.

FC put the game away on a third goal in the 85th minute when Jayden Romo took the deflection on her own for a solo shot.

Hornet goal keeper Cindy Suarez was solid in the box with 6 saves and 1 goals against in 90 minutes.

Up Next: Fullerton (3-0-1 overall) travels to Mt. San Antonio College on Friday, September 24th for its last non-conference game before OEC-play begins. Game time is at 5:00 pm.
