Hawks bounce with 5-0 rout over Feather River in home opener

LIVERMORE – The Las Positas College women's soccer team has a short memory.

Just two days after suffering a tough 3-0 loss in their 2022 season opener, the Hawks' offense exploded in a 5-0 victory over Feather River College in their home opener on Thursday.

Leading 1-0 at halftime, LPC broke free for four goals over the final 45 minutes.

Freshman Tiana LaFleur scored twice, netting goals in the 52nd and 66th minute, to lead the Hawks in the rout.

Sophomore Tiffani Cheng struck first for LPC, opening the scoring with her goal in the second minute off the assist from Danielle Castro and Alyssa Sullivan.

Castro (54th) and Alyssa Fitting (74th) also scored their first goals of the season.

Ava Buckles had an easy time in goal for the Hawks and earned the shutout.

Las Positas (1-1) returns to action on Thursday (Sep. 8) at 1:30 p.m. when they host College of the Siskiyous in a non-conference game.
