Bobcats roll past Cypress

The Saddleback women's tennis team bounced back from its first loss of the season with a resounding 8-1 victory over Cypress College on Thursday in Cypress.  The Bobcats had clean sweeps in five of nine matches.

Saddleback showed up angry after losing to Orange Coast on Tuesday.  The Bobcats took it out on the Chargers with a convincing win after winning a close battle with Cypress earlier in the season.

Ainsley Beresford, Brooke Buser, Ellie Maruna and Emily West were all two-time winners on the day, winning in both doubles and singles play.

Maruna and Buser teamed up to win 8-2 at No. 2 doubles and both went on to sweep their opponents in singles play.  West teamed up with Kavelle Tomaiko for a sweep at No. 3 doubles before West swept the opening set at No. 6 singles previous to her opponent retiring from the match.

Saddleback is now 7-1 overall and 3-1 in Orange Empire Conference play after the win.  The Bobcats will host Orange Coast College next Tuesday looking for some revenge after a loss earlier this week.  Saddleback and Orange Coast are scheduled to start at 2:00 PM at the Saddleback Tennis Complex.
