Vaqueros Fall to Antelope Valley, Mt. San Jacinto

ANTELOPE VALLEY – The SBCC softball team put up one run for the third straight day of competition, being shutout by Antelope Valley 5-0 and falling to Mt. San Jacinto 3-1 on Friday.

In their first game of the day, the Vaqueros were held to a season-low in hits as they were shut out for the second time this season.

Right fielder Isabella Huckaby and pitcher Lauren Indermuehle tallied SBCC's only two hits in the game.

Antelope Valley came out with three runs in the first inning, two of which were unearned following Vaquero errors. The home side would be held scoreless in four innings the rest of the way, but added two more in the fifth.

Santa Barbara's offense got back on a track a bit in the second game of the day, going for five hits.

Jade Leoffler led the way with two hits, while Sarah Hammonds tallied an RBI on her lone hit. Catcher Naveah Freitas had a hit as well and scored SBCC's only run of the day.

Unfortunately for the Vaqueros, they would give up three runs, including two RBI for Eagles shortstop Alexis Aldridge. They ended the day with four errors, while Mt. San Jacinto was errorless.
