CHABOT WINS! GLADIATORS UPEND WEST HILLS TO IMPROVE TO 3-2 ENTERING BYE WEEK
The Chabot football team earned a highly satisfying win over host West Hills-Coalinga Saturday afternoon, 38-31, to improve to 3-2 heading into the bye week.
Sophomore quarterback Chayce Akaka had a brilliant effort, completing 16 of 20 passes for 359 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions.
 Janiero Crankfield had a monster game with seven receptions for 167 yards and 2 TDs. Isaiah-Nehemiah McGlown ran for 80 yards and a TD on 12 attempts.
Darriell Wells and Tai Nguyen both had Interceptions. 
State leader Wells has six picks on the season.
Chabot will travel to East Bay-rival Diablo Valley College (3-2) on Oct. 18 to open Bay 6 Conference play. The Gladiators' conference home opener is Oct. 26 against Santa Rosa.
