Kishton/Porras, Albrecht/Valenti lead Vikings to sweeps of MPC, Gavilan

The West Valley beach volleyball team stayed one match out of first place in the Coast Conference with sweeps of Monterey Peninsula and Gavilan Friday in Saratoga. The Vikings (12-4, 7-1 Coast) didn't drop a set in either match and were led by straight-set twin wins from 1's Katie Kishton and Flor Porras and 2's Camdyn Albrecht and Alina Valenti.

The Vikings opened the 85-degree day against the Lobos (2-10, 0-4):

Next up for the Vikings is a key Coast Contest at Main Beach in Santa Cruz on April 15 against Fresno City (4-9-1, 4-4) and College of San Mateo (8-4, 4-2). First serve is noon.
