LACC @ Palomar College

LACC Women’s first match of the season

The LACC women's team took on a great match against Palomar on Tuesday, August 30th. The Lady Cubs had to play with 10 players due to injuries but were taking shots within the first minutes. Unfortunately, the Palomar Comets were able to get on the scoreboard within the first 5 minutes of the match. The Comets scored their next 3 goals in the 18th, 21st and 43rd minute. The Lady Cubs were down 4-0 by the end of the first half. After a motivating talk from Head Coach, Lior Lipman, the Lady Cubs were battling the entirety of the second half. The Lady Cubs tenacity in the second half gave themselves great opportunities. One of those opportunities included freshman, Isabella Velazco, taking a great shot from outside the 18. Stephanie Cardenas was able to create plays for us by outrunning their back line and making crosses. Jackelin Jimenez helped our defense make sure we stayed compact in the back, not allowing the Comets to get another goal for the remainder of the match. After a long and tough match, the Lady Cubs walked off the field holding their head high ready to prepare for the next game. We hope to see you all at our first home match, Tuesday, September 6th at 7pm against Moorpark.
