Four different players netted three or more goals as the Pasadena City College women's water polo team scored a 15-11, South Coast Conference win at East Los Angeles College on Wednesday. The Lancers are 3-2 in SCC games and 3-5 overall.

Lilian Tahmasian led the way with five goals, Marina Schulz tallied four scores, and both Marley Courtney (game-high five assists) and Leila Jimenez also scored hat tricks. Mia Hernandez contributed three assists and Nickey Hale made two steals. The 15 goals is a team season high.

Courtney broke a 2-2 tie with a goal and then Schulz rattled the back of the cage with two goals in the final minute of the first quarter for a 5-2 PCC lead. East LA, led by seven goals by Jasmine Morales-Sanchez, cut it to 7-6, but Pasadena responded with three straight goals and took a 10-7 halftime lead. The teams traded goals in a lower-scoring second half.

"Chemistry improved on offense indicated by the number of assists (13 of the 15 goals)," said PCC head coach Terry Stoddard. "Lilian led the charge on offense and Marley led us on the defensive end. We did a good job in eliminating unforced errors, which gave us a chance to control the game better."

Goalie Daniela Dockendorf-Cani made seven saves defending the Lancers cage.

After eight games, Tahmasian leads the Lancers in goals (18) and steals (21).

On Friday-Saturday, Oct. 15-16, PCC plays at the Citrus Tournament. The Lancers begin with a 1:50 p.m. match on Friday v. Fresno City College.
