Bulldogs Drop Home Showing versus Cabrillo

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College men's soccer program dropped a tough home match against Cabrillo College on Tuesday afternoon in a 4-2 decision.

Myles Baro got the Bulldogs (1-4-1) on the board first after tapping in a shot after the ball rebounded off the left post in the 4th minute of play. The Seahawks (2-1-1) responded with a goal of their own after a shot from inside the penalty area bounced off a downed attacker and into the net during the 30th minute. Jose Perez put Hancock ahead after capitalizing on a header from a defender that went high, allowing for a point-blank shot in the 50th minute. Cabrillo erased the deficit in the 70th minute, then surged past the Bulldogs with a pair of goals in the 72nd and 83rd minutes.

As a team, the Bulldogs were outshot by a slim 29-22 margin and lost the corner kick battle by an 11-7 count. Baro and Perez led the Hancock squad offensively after combining for seven of the team's 12 shots on target in the contest. Bryan Gomez, Sean Soltan, Josue Celio, and Juan Montelongo also registered multiple shot attempts apiece on the night. TJ Vinnedge suffered the loss in the box despite collected 12 saves through 90 minutes of competition.
