Comets' defense helps in comeback win over Harbor

SAN MARCOS, CA (11/29/2019) – Palomar faced LA Harbor College in their first game of the Palomar Thanksgiving Tournament and won 78-71 to nab their first home game victory.

Down 37-33 at the half, the Comets came out a strong team that effectively played both sides of the ball. The team had seven steals in the second half, while only having four in the first. The Comets had 11 defensive rebounds in the first half and grabbed 17 more boards in the second while Jacob Durham recorded one block. Anthony Brewer had 16 points at the half and was able to nail a free throw and made a layup to end the night as the leading scorer with 19, a season-high. Noah Woodby, Michael Brandon and Zadok Wilson also ended the night as double-digit scorers with 16, 14 and 15 points, respectively. Brandon and Wilson also had season-highs tonight.

Brewer crashed the boards with nine rebounds and Wilson ended with seven.

The Comets improve to 3-3 on the season and will face Compton College tomorrow night at 6 p.m. for day two of the tournament.
