ARC Men Perform Well at Big 8 North Conference Championships

In the Big 8 North conference tournament the Beavers were able to qualify all three doubles teams and four singles players for the Ojai Individual Championships. Younes Kodiji, Stephen Guenard, Sam Hall, and Tommy Luu all reached the main draw quarterfinals in singles, automatically qualifying them for Ojai. As the tournament progressed, the #3 seeded Hall beat #1 seeded Rajan Bhatia (SOL) 6-4, ret. to earn a place in the singles final. On the other half of the draw, #2 seeded Kodiji earned a spot in the championship match by beating a slightly injured Guenard (#5 seed) when Guenard could no longer continue at 4-1 in the 1st set. The final between Hall and Kodiji will be played at a later date to determine the singles conference champion.

The Beavers performed well in the doubles as well, with all three teams reaching the quarterfinals, earning the automatic bids to Ojai. After qualifying, in the quarterfinals, the ARC #3 tandem of Micah Erwin/Kaison Lum fell to the FLC #1 team of Daniel Alves/Stephen Morley, ending their run in the tourney. The other two ARC teams of Stephen Guenard/Sam Hall and Yones Kodiji/Tommy Luu worked their way through the draw to the finals, where they are scheduled to play each other for the conference title at a later date.

It was a the final conference event of the season for the Beavers, as they will now pursue their fourth consecutive NorCal title in the NorCal team playoffs.
