Women's Water Polo Struggles In OEC Opener, Loses 15-4

CYPRESS, CA - Cypress women's water polo (0-2, 0-1 OEC) hosted the Riverside Tigers (5-5, 1-1 OEC) on Wednesday afternoon. The Chargers struggled in the OEC opener falling to the Tigers 15-4.

The Cypress offense was quiet as they only found the back of the net four times in the contest. Freshman, Taylor Webber scored two goals for the Chargers while Ashley Slaton and Sam Worley each added one of their own. The Chargers defense was outmatched giving up 15 goals to the Tigers. Cypress was held scoreless in the second quarter as Riverside got out to a 9-2 halftime lead. The Chargers will build upon their defensive effort that they showed in the second half as they held RCC to six goals. The Chargers ultimately fell to the Tigers in disappointing fashion, 15-4.

UP NEXT: The Chargers will be back in the pool at the Mt. San Antonio Invitational this weekend. Cypress will take on West Valley on Friday (9/24) along with Santa Monica College and Mt. San Antonio on Saturday (9/25).
