Beach splits at Golden West

The Saddleback beach volleyball split a pair of matches at Golden West College on Friday in Huntington Beach.  The Bobcats opened with a 4-1 win over host Golden West before dropping a close battle with Palomar College, 3-2.

Saddleback started the day by winning over Golden West in Orange Empire Conference play.  The Bobcats had sweeps at the 1's, 3's and 4's and earned a three-set win at the 5's. 

Abigail Brown and Logan Daniels teamed up for a 21-19, 21-16 win for a 1-0 lead.  The Bobcats dropped the match at the 2's and picked up another win on court three when Haley Jones and Kaydance Robles cruised to a 21-6, 21-6 win.  Sydney Pak and Sabrina Hernandez won a tough battle on court four with a 21-18, 21-19 win.  Autry Satica and Desiree Atienza then went three sets before pulling out a 17-21, 21-17, 15-10 win on court five.

Saddleback is now 3-3 overall and 1-0 in Orange Empire Conference play to start the season.  The Bobcats will play again next Friday.
